Siskin has been Contributed the green light to Participate in a Yearlong renewal of Their Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday week by ger Lyons.
Unbeaten in a Group One winner and four starts , Siskin is place to match the hugely-impressive Goodwood scorer Pinatubo and Aidan O’Brien’s Armory of Charlie Appleby.
“He’s in amazing shape and he is being pushed by his trainer with the National Stakes on Sunday week in your mind, even though I would be very worried taking on Pinatubo!” Lyons told www.irishchampionsweekend.ie.
“He was incredibly striking at Goodwood, however Siskin has a Group One win under his belt, even if he is a good bit below three of these on evaluations and ratings do not lie.
“Nevertheless, he just did what he was asked to perform, and I have been quite happy with him. I would not have any problem on fine ground taking on anyone over seven furlongs and anything beats Pinatubo will probably be champion two-year-old.”
Siskin coped out and Lyons confessed to being surprised.
“He has impressed me. The Phoenix was a case of no horse really liking the floor, but everybody was telling me he’d fight it because of his pedigree and at the car park ahead I was becoming worried,” explained Lyons.
“I hadn’t ever really thought about it a lot ahead to be fair, but a lot of people were talking about the floor. He showed a fantastic attitude and, all going well, he is being trained as a Guineas horse following season.”
As for his other huge hope over the weekend, Who is Steph at the Moyglare”Jewels” Blandford Stakes, Lyons would have to see plenty of rain to let her take her opportunity.
“She’s perhaps my favorite horse in the lawn, but it’s rare enough she’s her earth. She isn’t quite a Group One filly andin that league, everything needs to be in her favor,” he explained.
“She would actually want it soft to heavy or thick,”
